SYNOPSIS: At nineteen, Nica Galas published her first book, the autobiographical volume Falling into the Sea, which narrated her brief and torrid love story among the warm beaches and lemon trees of the Gulf of Naples. The overwhelming story begins with Nica and her friends picking bouquets of jasmine flowers for the boys while jumping into the sea from a cliff. An innocent first kiss leads to a fiery summer affair that is cut short one moonlit night when her lover jumps into the dark abyss never to surface again, leaving Nica naked on the cliffs screaming his name.
